The Gospel
you can know...
The Bible teaches that every person is a sinner and stands guilty before a holy God. Scripture says, “There is none righteous, no, not one” and “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:10, 23). Because of sin, the penalty is death and eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23). Heaven is a place of perfect righteousness where nothing sinful can enter (Revelation 21:27), yet no amount of religion, morality, or good works can make a person righteous before God. The Bible plainly declares that salvation is “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us” (Titus 3:5). Left to ourselves, we cannot save ourselves.
But God, in His love and mercy, provided the answer through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a perfect life and died on the cross to bear the sins of the world. The Bible says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). On the cross, Christ paid the full penalty for sin, and through His resurrection He proved that the work of salvation was finished. Because of what Christ has done, God now offers forgiveness and eternal life as a free gift of grace.
This gift is received by faith alone. The Bible says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith… it is the gift of God: not of works” (Ephesians 2:8–9). To repent means to change your mind—to turn from trusting in your own religion, goodness, or efforts, and instead place your full trust in Jesus Christ alone as your Savior. The moment a person believes in Christ, God gives eternal life that can never be lost (John 10:28; 1 John 5:13). If you will trust Jesus Christ today, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, you can know that you are forgiven and that you have eternal life.
